Board (/carlift/board) is where the day is assembled: trips on one side, cars and drivers on the other, and the act of putting them together.
¶ Working with it
- Lay out everything runs automatic assignment across the board.
- Undo rolls the last layout back — automatic assignment is a suggestion, not a verdict.
- Refresh re-reads the board; several dispatchers usually work the same day.
Candidates for a trip are offered by the system; the dispatcher decides.
¶ Why undo exists
Automatic assignment optimises what it can measure — time and distance. It cannot know that one driver must not be sent to a particular client, or that a car is due at a service at noon. Undo is what makes it safe to try the automatic layout first and correct it afterwards.
